Since the beginning of this year Foregenix has partnered with the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA), Australia’s national organisation for public and not-for-profit hospitals and healthcare providers, and together we have been championing the importance of cybersecurity in the healthcare space.
Sometimes an afterthought, cybersecurity is crucial for healthcare organisations, as it's needed to protect patients’ sensitive data from being stolen or leaked.
However, even if you have the most advanced systems in place, such as antivirus, firewall, endpoint protection, and so on, it can all crumble due to a simple human error.
Sadly, over 90% of successful cyberattacks are down to human error, and staff simply being uneducated around online security. Many organisations are risking their reputation, client trust as well as huge financial loss that comes hand in hand with a data breach.
Knowing the cruel reality, AHHA and Foregenix, have been championing security awareness amongst healthcare professionals. In addition to educational webinars, AHHA has recently published an article, written by our very own Dan Ball, in their August editorial of The Health Advocate magazine.
